The homeowners wanted a beautiful pool area that enhanced the property without blocking the incredible coastal views. CHR Builders managed the entire project from start to finish, coordinating all subtrades, organising materials and constructing the full outdoor structure to bring the vision to life.

An outdoor living space that complements its surroundings

Protecting the view was one of the most important aspects of the build. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure the new pool area complemented the home and landscape without dominating it.

Working alongside the architect, CHR Builders contributed to the design of the custom macrocarpa balustrade, creating a feature that adds warmth, character and privacy.

Custom pool and deck construction

The pools were craned into position on site in collaboration with Tiny Pools, with CHR Builders constructing the surrounding decks, structural base and custom detailing.

Vitex decking and matching Vitex base cladding were chosen for their durability and natural appearance, helping the outdoor spaces blend beautifully with the coastal environment.

Additional custom-built doors beneath the structure provide practical access and concealed storage while maintaining a clean finish.

A combination of premium materials and detailed craftsmanship helped elevate the final result. Features of the project include:

One of the standout challenges of the project was the pool tiling. Because the pools are tapered, every tile sheet required custom cutting and careful set-out to achieve a flawless finish. CHR Builders worked closely with the tiler throughout the process to ensure everything aligned perfectly.

Managing a challenging coastal site

Like many coastal builds, site access presented logistical challenges. Tight access meant careful coordination was essential to keep the project running smoothly.

Daily communication with subtrades and precise delivery scheduling ensured the driveway remained accessible and materials arrived exactly when needed. Services were also carefully integrated into the site, including core drilling through block walls to accommodate plumbing and electrical requirements.
